    I have same imagination and swing thought, but i have problem with wrist and clubface that is the key for ball flight. Is there a tip to square clubface?

    • @PeterKnightGolf
      @PeterKnightGolf Годину тому

      Squaring the clubface is largely about controlling the unhinging and rolling (squaring) the wrists and clubface.

    Excellent job Peter in explaining the correct manner in which to pitch onto he green. I like this "weight forward" onto the lead side because it limits the movement in the swing. We are after more of a controlled type shot! Well Done Peter!

    • @PeterKnightGolf

      It may help. Best thing is for you to hold the club correctly and monitor what your hands are doing.

    This is so good. I am so terrible at this shot, because I have tendencies from my full swing and I don’t like “risking” it with wrist action. It seems like any time I try to add any elements of the high pitch to my game, I get stuck on those elements even in my long game. So I feel afraid to even attempt any of these types of shots into my practice routine because I might use them with my longer irons. I need short game lessons bad.

    • @PeterKnightGolf

      You should be able to separate the wrist movements between short shots and full swings with practice. Good luck with your practice.

    this is absolutely a killer for my swing.....but now that I know my shoulder tension can cause a poor swing , how do I best keep it under control?...thanks

    • @PeterKnightGolf
      @PeterKnightGolf 4 дні тому

      The best way is monitoring it by noticing if you are introducing tension during your swing. If you are, then start with slower swings to see if you can reduce the tension and then gradually increase your swing speed.

    I am a beginner golfer, and I have been trying to figure out how it is that some golfers seem to hit the ball so far with so little effort, and while if I hit numerous balls at the range, that I end up winded and the ball goes maybe half as far. I have watched other videos that try and explain what one needs to do, but I never really got what they were talking about until now. I guess that's the problem trying to use words to describe something physical. Anyways, I think you have unlocked something in my brain, and you have given me something to work on.

      Thanks Jack. It can take some time to develop the correct movement coordination for an effective golf swing. Keep at it and you’ll find that your distance will increase over time.

    When you go back I can’t feel or what gets me to front foot. I go back and leave all weight back. Am I pushing off back foot to get onto lead. Or am I floating to front foot. The weight of club and body moving back I get stuck and just hit off back foot still.

    • @PeterKnightGolf
      @PeterKnightGolf 6 днів тому

      Better to float to the front foot. The float begins well before you get to the end of your backswing. If you wait until the end of our backswing before attempting to shift pressure to your front foot, it will be too late.

    Excellent video Peter on why 95% of golfers miss with their irons. I have to admit that I will include myself in this 95%. Although I feel that my ball position is good, I do hit fat shots with my irons. I try to focus on the front of the ball, but I feel that I'm not moving my weight to the left side as it should be. I'm always checking the divot and my club face in order to make any adjustments. Well Done Peter! Keep up the good work!

    In order for golfers to easily understand, you need to explain the exact mechanisms that constitutes the two pendulums in the golf swing . Namely the hands and wrists and golf club equal one pendulums; along with the scapula shoulders and arms equaling the other pendulum. Both pendulums need to be in total synchronization with the other as the golfer pivots from one side to the other. Do you agree? ? Cheers 😊🥂👍

    Ironically I just saw a Moe Norman video where he said he did grip in the palm of the right hand as it gave him more control. Not that I'm going to do it. However I do like the idea of the knuckle behind the grip not under. I will give that a try. Thanks for the tip

  • @DASH1ful
    @DASH1ful 20 днів тому

    Well, no. The elbow doesn't do that at all. When you look closely at Hogan doing his slow mo drill you can see that he fully activates the "inside muscles" in the left side of his right forearm in the start of his downswing. In his actual swing he fused his hands at the top of his backswing; and, this helped him to fully activate the muscles in the left side of his right forearm. Obviously, the right hand and arm react against the left hand when it presses against the right hand, in the start of the downswing.

    Good job. Hogans book is called 5 lessons, not magic bullets. He tells you to spend time on each lesson. Some lessons are exaggerated to help you assuming you are working on them. Just as you show here, Hogan knows you should be able to adjust properly and find your own way.

  • @johnschwartz1536

    Peter, excellent job on describing Hogan's "Magic Elbow!" One thing I do in my golf swing is pay close attention to the folding and unfolding of the right arm. In this lesson you pointed out several valuable things that need to be paid attention to as well. One important thing that I haven't been doing is to also pay attention to the right wrist, which I will now do! Well Done Peter! I have both Hogan's and Nicklaus's books in my bookcase. I've referred to them many times!

    I generally keep a loose right hand. Yes, it provides the power.....but all the control and stability is in the left hand. My right hand hardly grips at all...and I do the overlap grip. The thumb and first finger grips...and rest is all loose. Even then, right hand just provides power and controls swing path.
